Extremely excited to announce this, however due to the nature of the contest I can only reveal the letter that I received, all names except mine have been removed and unfortunately I cannot show what I won this for except that its a Super Hero. All I can say is that my trip to China in 2008 proved to be my inspiration and stroke of genius:

Nanjing, China

July 17th, 2010

Here are more photos from the Vault. I am just trying to be a little more frequent with my blog postings.  Although Shanghai was my return point this was my second stop in China. This City was the capital before the Communist Party had their revolution, however through out history it has been known as Nanking. Upon my arrival it was like humid city, there is an image of people just cooling off in a local grocery store plus a weird abandoned amusement park.

Set to lyrics:

The English are waiting
And I don’t know what to do
In my best clothes

I’m the new blue blood, I’m the great white hope
I’m the new blue blood

I won’t fuck us over, I’m Mr. November
I’m Mr. November, I won’t fuck us over

I wish that I believed in fate
I wish I didn’t sleep so late
I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders

New Years in Hong Kong! Happy 2010…Again.

July 16th, 2010

Here are some photos from my Hong Kong trip during New Years Eve. Also included are some pics from a movie they were shooting while I was walking down the street that I thought was pretty cool.

Set to a makeshift song:

The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go
Hong Kong, things’ll be great when you’re
Hong Kong, no finer place for sure,
Hong Kong, everything’s waiting for you
Hong Kong

Sketches up to no good: take four

July 11th, 2010

Just some sketches I recently found myself doing. Also a goodbye card I created for an coworker who was leaving that I think is pretty cute.

Set to lyrics:

Last of the ghetto astronauts:

It gets dark around here early
Sometimes the moon will follow you in the middle of the day
Waiting to be found, we were just standing around
With nothing really much to say

I didn’t know any better
You didn’t think that we should
Said we’re gonna burn down the night
I wanna be misunderstood
All four wheels across the pavement
We used to live in black and white
I only think about tomorrow so it’ll get me through the night

CHORUS
And I ain’t laughing and I ain’t joking anymore
I keep my footsteps to the ground
I keep my eyes glued to the floor
Somewhere in between only the stunners dream on this side of midnight

And maybe we’re just crazy
Maybe we’re better off dead
Maybe things will never change
Maybe you’ve got it backwards in your head
The Last of the Ghetto Astronauts won’t be ignored
Said I’m gonna go where no one has gone before
Said I’m gonna go where no one has gone before

Been walking with the giants
Been sleeping in a town without a name
Been holding on to your arms and legs
Your arms and legs cause
Nobody here wants to put you back together again
Together again, together again, together again

Not too long ago my trusty Hard Drive Crashed taking with it years and adventures with it, really disappointing me. I did feel a little sad and the idea that all was lost hit a little too close to home, however I would like to reintroduce my Hard drive, back from the dead! And now that its back, where do I start…again.

China (part 2) Shanghai, The people’s republic

November 18th, 2009

Finally been able to rummage through photos.  This is my second post on Shanghai the first one dealt with the close ups on objects and there will be plenty of those in the future. This second post has to deal with the people in shanghai from the night life, to the stark contrast in poverty and wealth that is quite obvious in the view from my hotel room.  This is still in Shanghai I will be posting Nanjin, Shuzhou, and Putuoshan in later parts.

Set to a tidbit of info:

The two Chinese characters in the name “Shanghai”, (, shàng; and , hǎi) literally mean “up, on, or above” and “sea” The earliest occurrence of this name dates from the Song Dynasty (11th century), at which time there was already a river confluence and a town with this name in the area.”
